Multi-cat sizing checker

Enter your cats and their weights to see which self-cleaning litter boxes and feeders are within the limits their makers state.

Cats sharing one box or feeder

How the check works

Felineering mathA product is within limits when your number of cats is at or below the maker's stated cat count, your heaviest cat is at or below any stated maximum weight, and your lightest cat is at or above any stated minimum. Where a maker doesn't state a limit, we show 'Check with maker' rather than assume.
LimitsMakers rate cat counts for typical use; very large cats or heavy users fill bins faster. Kittens under a box's minimum weight should use it with automatic cleaning switched off.

Questions

How many litter boxes do I need for several cats?
A common guideline is one box per cat plus one. A self-cleaning box rated for several cats can reduce scooping, but many owners still keep a second box.
Why does weight matter for a litter box?
Automatic boxes use weight sensors to detect a cat. Below the minimum, a cat may not be detected; above the maximum, the cat may not fit or turn comfortably.
