Why it matters
This dome camera works without Wi-Fi: insert an SD card, plug it into power or a power bank, and it records Full HD video when it detects motion. Nothing goes to the cloud.
You review footage afterward on a computer through a card reader or USB cable, so there's no live view or phone alert. That suits checking what a cat did while you were out, not watching in real time.
Who it's for, and who should skip it
Good fit if
- Owners who avoid cloud apps
- Checking behavior after the fact
- Homes without Wi-Fi
Look elsewhere if
- Owners who want live view
- Phone alerts
- Wide rooms
Pros and cons
Pros
- No Wi-Fi needed
- Offline privacy
- Motion recording
Cons
- No live view
- No phone alerts
- Narrow 60° view
Limitations to weigh
- Mount or place it out of paw reach and away from windows that glare at night; cats knock small cameras off shelves.
- Format the SD card in the camera first and check it records before relying on it.
