Why it matters
Purina says this LightWeight formula is 50% lighter than the leading clumping litter: less weight, not less litter. It's absorbent and forms light, tight, strong clumps.
It gives 21-day odor control against ammonia when used as directed, is 99.9% dust-free, and carries a Glade Clear Springs scent for multi-cat homes.
Who it's for, and who should skip it
Good fit if
- Apartments and stairs
- Multi-cat homes
- Self-cleaning boxes that take clumping litter
Look elsewhere if
- Scent-sensitive cats
- Crystal-tray boxes
- Flushing
Pros and cons
Pros
- 50% lighter
- 21-day odor claim
- Low dust
Cons
- Scented
- Lighter clumps can crumble when wet through
- Not flushable
Limitations to weigh
- In a self-cleaning box, use it only where the box's maker accepts clumping litter; most globe and open-top boxes do, crystal-tray boxes don't.
- Scented litters can put off some cats; if your cat avoids the box after a change, try an unscented formula.
- The bag weight is what you carry, not how long it lasts; lighter formulas cover the same use with less weight.
