Why it matters
The Scooper Young has no app and needs no Wi-Fi: it comes assembled, so you plug it in and add litter. A rolling sift separates waste, and the screen design saves litter.
CATLINK states a range of 3.5 to 22 lb. Gravity, self-detection and anti-pinch sensors protect cats. The globe holds 57 L and the drawer 13 L. An optional rechargeable purifier and a carbon filter reduce odor.
Who it's for, and who should skip it
Good fit if
- Owners who avoid apps
- Cats 3.5–22 lb
- Simple setup
Look elsewhere if
- Homes without a level spot near an outlet
- Cats that are afraid of moving parts
- Kittens under the maker's minimum weight
Pros and cons
Pros
- No Wi-Fi needed
- Assembled
- 13 L drawer
Cons
- No remote control
- Tall at 28 in
- Purifier optional
Limitations to weigh
- Set it on a hard, level floor near an outlet. Weight sensors read wrong on carpet or uneven tile, which can stop or trigger cycles.
- Automatic cycling has a minimum cat weight; keep automatic mode off for kittens under it and run cleans manually.
- Empty the waste bin before it's full and keep spare bags; an overfull bin is the most common cause of a stalled cycle.
- Running costs come from the bags, liners, filters and litter the maker specifies. The compatibility checker lists refills that state they fit.
