Why it matters
The Connect version adds integrated scales and the Sure Petcare app, through the SureFlap Hub (sold separately). Set the portion in the app and the feeder weighs what you add and what each pet eats.
The lid opens for a pet's microchip or a Sure Petcare RFID collar tag, preventing food stealing. It holds 13.5 fl oz of wet or dry food with a sealing lid.
Who it's for, and who should skip it
Good fit if
- Owners tracking intake
- Prescription diets
- Multi-pet homes
Look elsewhere if
- Single-cat homes (no need)
- Cats that dislike lids moving
- Free-feeding households
Pros and cons
Pros
- Built-in scales
- App history
- Wet or dry
Cons
- Hub sold separately
- Not timed
- Higher cost
Limitations to weigh
- Register each cat's microchip (or tag) and check that the feeder reads it before relying on it for separate diets.
- Budget for the SureFlap Hub; app features need it.
