Why it matters
GOLOPET's BHP4545 adjusts from 80 to 130 F with a timer from 1 to 24 hours, plus a normally-open mode for continuous heat. The inner liner is flame-retardant, waterproof PVC, and the cover comes off to wash.
The maker lists it for indoor floors, sofas and outdoor cat houses.
Who it's for, and who should skip it
Good fit if
- Outdoor cat houses
- Owners wanting continuous heat
- Cold garages
Look elsewhere if
- Cats that chew cords
- Kittens or cats that can't move off a heat source on their own
- Unsheltered outdoor spots in rain or snow
Pros and cons
Pros
- Wide temperature range
- 1-24 h timer
- Waterproof liner
Cons
- High settings too hot for some cats
- Corded
- Flat pad
Limitations to weigh
- Place the pad so your cat can move off it; any heated surface should have a cooler spot nearby.
- Route the cord where it can't be chewed or tripped over, and unplug it when it's not in use.
- Start at a low setting; the top of the range is hot for a resting cat.
