Why it matters
Extreme Clump uses ClumpLock technology to lock in liquid and odor on contact and form tight clumps. It absorbs liquid quickly so moisture doesn't reach the bottom of the box.
Ammonia Block Technology, activated charcoal and Febreze freshness fight odor. The listing is two 18.5 lb boxes in Extreme Mountain Spring scent.
Who it's for, and who should skip it
Good fit if
- Multi-cat homes
- Owners who like a scent
- Self-cleaning boxes that take clumping litter
Look elsewhere if
- Owners who want a light bag
- Flushing (clay isn't flushable)
- Crystal-tray boxes
- Scent-sensitive cats
Pros and cons
Pros
- Tight clumps
- Fast absorption
- Charcoal
Cons
- Scented
- Heavy
- Not flushable
Limitations to weigh
- In a self-cleaning box, use it only where the box's maker accepts clumping litter; most globe and open-top boxes do, crystal-tray boxes don't.
- Scented litters can put off some cats; if your cat avoids the box after a change, try an unscented formula.
- Switch litters gradually by mixing in the new one over about a week; abrupt changes can put cats off the box.
