Why it matters
PAWZ Road tops a 32 in sisal post with a small elevated perch and adds a hanging ball. The 16 in square wooden base is plush covered and heavy enough for big cats jumping on.
Hand wash the plush.
Who it's for, and who should skip it
Good fit if
- Lookout cats
- Large cats
- Small spaces
Look elsewhere if
- Cats that only scratch carpet (try a flat mat)
- Very large cats on small posts
- Owners expecting a scratcher to last forever
Pros and cons
Pros
- 32 in tall
- Perch on top
- Wide base
Cons
- Small perch
- Plush shows hair
- Assembly
Limitations to weigh
- Put scratchers where your cat already scratches: by doors, beds and the arm of the sofa.
- A post should let your cat stretch fully upright; most adults need 30 in or more.
- A pinch of catnip or a wand toy dragged across the surface helps a cat find it.
